Perfect Square

Multiply this union with a harsh word
An ill thought
A phrase poorly scrawled on a bedroom door
And smile at the product
Mathematicians beware!
There is evil being done with what you call beauty
Numbers have been forgotten.

We are perfect in our imperfection
We are all wrong, and that's all right
Because never before have a square and a circle
Fit so well inside one another
Circle gets the square.

So why fight with me over a complicated math problem?
Pluses and minuses don't even out
We keep mixing signs
And there's just too many people in the equation.

Start with three
Subtract one
Divide by two
You get one.

I get nothing
Nothing multiplied by nothing is still zero.

Mathematicians beware!
There is a rogue magician on the loose
Changing positives to negatives
And screwing up the math
Changing the physics of the world
And now the sky is falling.
